This week was all about texture. According to the challenge issued "texture sounds like something rooted in the physical world, but it can also be conceptual. To use textures effectively in black and white, you need to visualize how something in color will “feel” in a black and white photo. Texture is one of those words that has many meanings, and how it’s interpreted varies for each person, especially in photography."
So the point was to evoke a feeling. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do for this and I knew I wanted to do something with skin. I also love the low key look. So I opted for that. My this was shot at 35mm, ISO 100, f11, 1/250 sec. I had an off camera flash on the right side and a piece of white paper sitting on top of a short canister (to block some of the light from hitting the paper). I feel like this really worked for this challenge - and I feel like I need a pedicure!
